Electrolysis is the only FDA approved method of permanent hair removal using electrical current and treating each follicle, but this isn't your grandmother's electrolysis. Our new methods, and state of the art and top of the line equipment have greatly increased the comfort of the client while delivering twice the power of standard machines in hundredths of a second. 

All areas of the body can be treated, except for inside the ear and nostrils. We can treat any facial hair,  chest, back, underarms, bikini, Brazilian, legs, toes, and anywhere else you may have unwanted hair, with those two exceptions. Permanency depends on many factors that cause hair growth such as hormones, medications, genetics etc...It also depends on the area of the body being treated, how dense the hair is, and what kind of hair is being treated as hair grows in stages. We will go over this in depth during your consultation.  Electrolysis is a process that requires commitment and should be viewed as an investment in yourself. The results are worth it. 

 Electrolysis works by treating hairs individually. A very fine, sterile probe is inserted into the hair follicle and a small, controlled amount of electrical current is gently released into the bottom of the hair follicle which averages around half a second. The electrical current destroys the hair growth stem cells inside the follicle making it impossible for the hair to regenerate. 

Absolutely not. Electrolysis is the ONLY FDA approved method to permanently remove unwanted hair. Laser hair removal is "hair reduction", and only works on certain skin types and hair color. Laser can not be done on tattoos, but electrolysis can remove hair around your tattoo to really make it stand out. Laser isn't always permanent reduction either. Also with laser, quite often the hair will grow back after several years of being dormant because of a hormonal change or major life event that triggers the follicle to start growing hair again. With electrolysis, once the follicle is dead, it will not regenerate hair in that follicle ever again.

 Depending on many different factors, i.e. area of body being treated, denseness of hair in that area, if the hair follicle is distorted (fixable) as all those factors influence the settings your electrologist will use.  A lot of factors influence hair growth from hormones, genetics, medications, etc... We will talk briefly about your medical history, current medications and your hair removal history including what methods used to address any contraindications. Everyone's comfort level is different that is why we work together to come up with best settings for you. Your electrologist will assess everything during the consultation, and together, will test settings to ensure a  proper treatment is being done on the follicle while making you as comfortable as possible. For more sensitive areas and clients, there are also numbing topical creams we can discuss as well. 

 As with most procedures, side effects are possible and will vary with each client. Most side effects are minimal, temporary and dissipate within a few hours, such as redness or swelling. These, as well as other potential side effects and after care for the treated area will be discussed in detail during your consultation.
